If you're not ready to leave, or if shelter isn't what you need, that doesn't mean you have to face this alone. Our outreach and non-residential support services exist for exactly this moment — when you need guidance, someone in your corner, and a plan, but you're not walking through our shelter doors today.

Non-Residential Services Available to You
You don't have to be a shelter resident to access our services. Outreach support is available to survivors living at home, staying with family or friends, or in any situation where shelter isn't the right fit. The following services are available on a non-residential basis:
- Individual counseling and emotional support
- Protective order assistance and legal advocacy
- Case management and safety planning
- Referrals to community resources, housing programs, and public benefits
- Job readiness and financial empowerment support
- Substance abuse recovery and mental health support
- Transportation assistance to appointments and services

Support for Survivors Who Are Still Deciding
One of the most common things we hear is: "I'm not ready to leave yet, but I need help." That is a completely valid place to be. Abuse recovery is not a single moment — it's a process, and support is available at every stage of it.
Our outreach services are designed for survivors who are still in their homes, still weighing their options, or still building the safety and resources they need to make a move. You can work with a case manager, access counseling, and get help with protective orders without ever entering the shelter. We'll help you build a plan on your timeline.
Two Ways to Connect — Choose What Feels Right
We offer two separate intake tracks so you're routed to the right kind of help from the start.
Outreach Intake — Services Without Shelter
If you need support but are not entering shelter, this is your path. Complete our mobile-friendly outreach intake form — it's built in plain language, works on any phone, and takes just a few minutes. An AI chat assistant is also available as an alternative if you'd prefer to start that way.
Emergency Shelter Intake — If You Need a Safe Place Tonight
If your situation has changed and you need emergency shelter, a separate intake track is available for that. Our shelter serves survivors and their children in Kaufman, Henderson, and Van Zandt counties, and we are the only emergency domestic violence shelter in Kaufman County.

Do I have to be in a shelter to receive services from Celebrate Forever Families?
No. Our outreach program is specifically designed for survivors who are not entering shelter. If you are living at home, staying with family, or in any situation where shelter isn't the right step right now, you can still access counseling, advocacy, case management, and referrals through our non-residential program.

What if I'm not sure whether I qualify for outreach services?
If you are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence or family violence, you qualify. You do not need to have a police report, a protective order, or prior contact with any agency. Call our 24/7 crisis line at (844) 525-0160 and we'll talk through what's available to you.

Can outreach services be provided remotely, or do I have to come in person?
Many of our outreach services can be provided remotely or by phone, depending on your situation and safety needs. We understand that coming to an office may not always be safe or practical, and we work with each survivor individually to find the safest way to connect.

What if I decide I want shelter after starting outreach services?
You can transition to shelter at any point if your situation changes. Our team will help you move through that process and connect you with the emergency shelter intake track. You are never locked into one path.

Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of how we work. Your safety depends on it, and we take that seriously. We will not share your information without your consent except as required by law.

Celebrate Forever Families is a recipient of the Texas Governor's Victims Assistance Grant and the Kaufman County Commissioner's Victims Assistance Grant. Our Senior Case Manager was named Advocate of the Year by the Kaufman County District Attorney's Office. This recognition reflects the advocacy our team brings to every survivor we serve — including those we support through outreach.
